*Optional Fitness Practice before starting at 6:00 pm

Please call the hotline for the latest information on days and fields.

The Furies practice twice a week in preparation for our games on Saturdays. As with any sport, practice is essential to a team's success on the field. And in rugby, practice is especially important, since the sport is new to most Americans. New skills, strategies, and drills are covered in each practice, which means that regular attendance is vital. We tend to build upon previous practices, which means that missing the drills on Monday puts a player at a disadvantage when those drills are incorporated into a strategy on Wednesday/Thursday. Now, we certainly understand that players have jobs, families, and other obligations that make missing some practices unavoidable. However, attendance is still noted, and taken into account during team selection for games. So come as regularly and often as possible.

Unlike many sports, we will practice EVEN WHEN IT'S RAINING.

(We play games in the rain, so it's only logical to practice in it as well.)

There are, however, several instances that would lead to the cancellation of practice, including: thunderstorms/lightening; severe cold or snow; and lack of field lights. Even under these circumstances, we try to have some sort of "chalk talk" or video session at a player's house instead of canceling practice outright. If you are ever in doubt about the status of a practice, call the Furies hotline at (800) 240-1479.

Occasionally, we will have additional Saturday practices (usually before the season starts). Participation in these practices is voluntary, and the location/times are usually decided upon as interest demands. For information on these practices, call the Furies hotline.
