7s Practice Information

When: TBD

Where: Sevens practices this summer will be on the Mall (as usual), on the grass near the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Memorial. If you are standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and are looking at the Washington Monument, the fields would be on your right. It's first come-first serve with field space down there, so you might have to wander around a bit to find the Furies rugby players.

Directions

You can park on Constitution Avenue (near the intersection with 23rd Street), right next to the fields. You can start parking along Constitution at 6:30 pm and the spots fill up pretty quickly. From Constitution Ave., walk toward the Lincoln Memorial. Go past the reflecting pool, turn left and look for rugby players.

From Virginia:

- Take Route 66 or Route 50 East toward Washington DC
- Cross over the Potomac River on the Roosevelt Bridge
- The first stop light is 23rd Street. Cross through this light and park along Constitution.

By Metro:

- The closest Metro stop is Foggy Bottom - GWU.*
*- From the Foggy Bottom metro, exit onto 23rd Street and walk south (down hill, towards the Lincoln Memorial) for 6 blocks. You will come to Constitution Avenue.

From DC:

- Head west on Constitution Avenue, towards Virginia.
- You can take a right on 22nd Street and park there; or make a U-turn and park on Constitution Ave. heading back the direction you came from.
- The fields are on the side of Constitution towards the Lincoln Memorial.

From Maryland:

Option #1: (Caveat - the signs on the GW Parkway stink.)
- You go around the top of the Beltway (headed west) into VA and then get on the George Washington Parkway headed south.
- You'll go about 8 miles and there will be an exit for the Roosevelt Bridge/Route 50 East/Constitution Ave/Kennedy Center. (Some combination of
these.)
- Take this exit, which will put you on the the Roosevelt Bridge
- The first stop light is 23rd Street. Cross through this light and park along Constitution
